The Public Health Direction (DSP) Galati confirmed on Monday two new cases of deaths due to hypothermia, the number of people who froze to death from the beginning of the cold season reaching five.
According to DSP Galati representatives, in the first case a 34-year old man in Galati was found dead in his house, and the autopsy showed that the cause was hypothermia. The man also suffered of chronic alcoholism.
In the second case, a 59-year old man in Movileni was found in his home in shock. The victim was rushed with the ambulance to Anton Cincu Hospital in Tecuci, where he died within a few hours despite doctors’ interventions. In this case too, the autopsy confirmed the cause of death to be hypothermia.
The number of people who died in southeastern Galati because of hypothermia has reached five, from the beginning of the cold season.
